The decision regarding student programming for deferment is made by the IEP team. St. Johns County uses an application process to track students interested in pursuing deferment and to coordinate IEP meetings.

Please review the application process below for a better understanding of what to expect. You can download the application, and either type or print it to complete on your own or with assistance. You, your parent(s), and the IEP team should also review the SJCSD Transition Guide to understand deferment options and the criteria for program entrance.

Applications are due by March 14th, and IEP meetings will be scheduled on a rolling basis. If a student plans to defer their diploma, per statute, this decision must be made by the IEP team no later than May 15th of their senior year.
